Welcome to South Holland School District 151 Information Technology Department online records request page

Upon registering at School District 151 a record is created for each student. Student records contain information about a student, such as: a student's name, grades and test scores, health and immunization records, discipline reports, documentation of attendance, courses taken, and special education records. 

Records are maintained at the school level while students are enrolled. Once the student transfers out or graduates, records are archived at the district level.

Illinois School Student Records Act (ISSRA) (105 ILCS 10/)

Illinois School Student Records Act (ISSRA) (105 ILCS 10/) states: (c) A parent's or student's request to inspect and copy records, or to allow a specifically designated representative to inspect and copy records, must be granted within a reasonable time, and in no case later than 10 business days after the date of receipt of such request by the official records custodian.  The school district may, in certain circumstances, extend the time for an additional 5 business days, and may also extend the time if agreed to by the requestor.  For more information on student records request, please review the District’s Student/Parent Handbook here. More information about ISSRA can also be found at: www.ilga.gov/legislation/ilcs/ilcs3.asp?ActID=1006&ChapterID=17.

Processing Time for Student Records

Below are the processing times for requested student records:

  • If the student graduated or transferred within the current school year, processing time will be 72 hours (3 business days)
  • If the student graduated or transferred out within the last five years, processing time will be 5 business days
  • If the student graduated or transferred out beyond five years, processing time will be up to 7-10 business days

Student Records Request

Complete the following form (link below) if you are requesting records for a former District 151 student. Please note the following:

-Submit one form per student
-Email a copy (photo or scan) of your current photo ID to: registration@shsd151.org
-Any request that does not include current/valid photo identification WILL NOT be processed.
-Requests will be processed in the order they are received.

-If a request for legal purposes, by a governmental agency, or for a student with disabilities requires a response within less time than 10 business days, the District will make every effort to comply with the shorter response time.

-District 151 may charge $.10 per page for copying information in the student's record. No parent/guardian or student will be precluded from copying information because of financial hardship.
